Lenses

If you decide to go for a DSLR, you'll need at least one lens to go with it. Hopefully it will come with a lens already, but if it doesn't you're going to need to find one that is compatible. Make sure you check before you buy.

If you're using a Canon camera like me, you could go for the same two lenses that I use.

The first of these is the Canon EF-S 35mm f/2.8 IS STM Macro Lens, which is great for getting really close up, and if you want a really small depth of field. It also has a light on the front of the lens, which can sometimes be really useful.

If I want a bigger depth of field, or to use my camera further away from the set, I use the EF-S 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 III Lens. This lens has a good zoom, which makes it easier to place your camera and tripod where you want it to achieve the right framing and depth of field. It’s a good all round lens, and not too pricey.
